RELEASE|April 28, 2022

State Rep. Jack O’Malley, of Lake Ann, has been named the Michigan Townships Association’s Legislator of the Year for 2022.

The award is given in recognition and appreciation for outstanding support and active involvement on behalf of township government.

“Every elected official has a duty to serve our constituents. While we don’t expect any type of recognition for that work, I do want to say how much this award means to me,” O’Malley said. “Our local units of government have been forced to go through some tough times these past few years, and they need all the help they can get. I want to thank the Michigan Townships Association for this recognition and I look forward to continuing to be their ally throughout my legislative term.”

O’Malley is in his second term in the Michigan House serving residents in Leelanau, Benzie, Manistee and Mason counties. He chairs the House Transportation Committee and also serves on House committees devoted to Education, Financial Services, Oversight, and Tax Policy.
